Janet Reuter, 62 passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in
Brooklyn Park, MN.
She was born on May 19, 1950 in Oak Park, IL the daughter of
Robert and Virginia Porter. Janet married James Reuter on June 17,
1972. They lived in Elgin, IL for many years before retiring to
Leesburg, Florida and Huntley, Illinois.
Janet was an elementary school teacher in U-46 for 28 years,
touching the lives of many students and teachers. She struggled
with ovarian cancer and leukemia but never lost the desire to live.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling
and playing poker.
Janet is survived by her children; Lindsay (Eric) Eden, Spencer
(Bethany) Reuter, grandchildren; Rylie and Caden Eden and Trevor
Reuter, sister; Linda Porter, brother; Gary Porter, mother-in-law;
Dorothy Reuter and her dog Maddie.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband James and parents,
Robert and Virginia Porter.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 5:00 to
7:00 pm at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main
Street, Huntley, IL.

Anderson Animal Shelter, 1000 S. La Fox Rd., South Elgin, Il
