Lawrence "Larry" E. Brown

Lawrence E. Brown, 71, of Huntley, took his last breath in his home early on the morning of June 15, 2021, with his loving wife, Deborah O’Neill by his side. Lawrence (Larry) was born at Ingalls Hospital in Harvey, IL on December 17, 1949. He grew up in Riverdale and attended Thornton High School in Harvey. He attended Knox College in Galesburg for a short time before answering the call to become a firefighter. Larry started his firefighting career in Dolton and retired from Arlington Heights Fire Department after 31 years of serving the community. In his spare time, Larry was also a jack of all trades and completed several projects that included roofing, siding, carpentry, plumbing, electric, flooring, and much more. He had an impressive collection of tools that consumed his garage space where he would spend hours rewiring, retooling, and repurposing just about anything he could find. Larry was a softball enthusiast who played and coached for several years including when he led the Orchids to several championships in the Tri-City girl's softball league before moving to Arlington Heights. Larry also loved bowling and was an avid fisherman. He was loved and will be missed by his wife, children, siblings, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Janine (Anthony) Tribuzio, Kari (Scotty) Krieg, Nicole (Kevin) Grelecki, Shannon O’Neill, and Chloe Gonzales (Pheonix Cheatham); grandchildren, Anthony (Holly) Tribuzio, Angela & Nicholas Tribuzio; Jessup & Bryar Krieg, Sophia & Charlotte Grelecki; Samantha Jovicevic; and Kaydance Rapp; siblings, Judy Perry, Sandy Crosson, Ray Donald Brown, and Mikel (Barb) Brown; and his loving companions, Scooter & Paige. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Dorothy (Spyier) Brown; brother-in-law, Bud Perry. A Memorial Visitation will be held on July 17, from 12 Noon - 2 PM at the James A. O’Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St. in Huntley. A reception will follow at his home. Inurnment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Larry’s name may be directed to the Animal House Shelter, 13005 Ernesti Rd., Huntley, IL 60142
