Patrick T. Brady

Patrick T. Brady, 95, of Huntley, passed away Friday, August 7th, 2026, at Crescent Care of Elgin. He was born December 27th, 1930, in Kewanee, IL, the Son of Andrew and Mamie (LeBlanc) Brady. Patrick grew up in Kewanee, IL where he attended Grade School and High School. Following Patrick’s high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for four years, which allowed him to use the G.I. Bill to enter Western Illinois University. Upon earning his Bachelor's Degree in Business Education, he proceeded with a professional teaching career. He taught Business Education at three different high schools and ended his thirty-seven year career with his final thirty years at Woodstock High School as a Business Teacher, Office Education Coordinator and Department Chairperson. He also earned a Master's Degree in Business Education from Northern Illinois University. In addition, he attended numerous universities throughout his career. He married Shirley A. Jachna, January 1st, 1959, in Chicago. He and his wife raised three children, two boys and a girl. Shirley passed away July 15th, 2018. Patrick later married his current wife, Margaret Kopriva. Patrick was a member of the Huntley American Legion Post #673. His musical background included singing the tenor part of a Barbershop Quartet group for the past forty years. He also sang with the Northbrook "New Tradition" Chorus. Patrick is survived by his second wife, Margaret Kopriva; his son, Michael Brady; his step-children, Paul (Mary) Foszcz, Michael (Kathleen) Foszcz, Gail (Joseph) Foszcz, Amy (Ken) Saperstein, James (Heather) Foszcz, Joyce (Eric) Noyes, and Pamela (Fiancé Steven) Scheve; his 12 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his 1st wife, Shirley; his daughter, Cheryl Ann; his son, William; and his 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20th, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main Street, Huntley, IL 60142. Visitation will continue the following morning Friday, August 21st, from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road Huntley, IL 60142. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Patrick’s name may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital. James A.
