Elmer W. Kutz, 79, of Genoa, formerly of Huntley passed away early Wednesday morning, Nov. 7, 2012 in his home with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 12, 1932 in Morton Grove the son of Albert and Ida (Ahrens) Kutz. Elmer was a lifelong farmer beginning in the Arlington Heights area. He farmed in Huntley next to Pinecrest Golf Course from 1968 to 2000, when he moved to his current farm in Genoa. When in Huntley he was known as the marigold farmer. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Huntley. He enjoyed bowling and raising his beloved cats. Surviving are his wife Florence nee Larsen whom he married December 20, 1991 in Huntley, stepdaughter Debbie (Jim) Wilson of Genoa, stepson Frank Sherman and step granddaughter Mellissa Sherman both of Antioch, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Irene Balmes and his twin Eleanor Gerkin. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at the Huntley Cemetery with Rev. Charles Kittel officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church of Huntley.
