Erna E. Brandwein Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Erna E. Brandwein, 79, of Huntley passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Bensenville on April 25, 1935, the daughter of Paul and Edna (Weimerslage) Grischow. On July 3, 1954 she married Edward K. Brandwein. She enjoyed reading the bible, gardening, sewing and cooking. Erna was an extraordinary wife who was exceptionally devoted to her family. She will be deeply missed by all. Erna is survived by her husband of 60 yrs, Edward; children, Edward P. (Lorrie) Brandwein, Lauren (Robert) Clark, Krista Brandwein, Marcy Marks; grandchildren, Paul (Taylor), Zachary, Jake, Jason (Cherie), Julie (Kyle), Michael, James, Dylan; great- grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan; sisters, Irene (Norm) Sass, Eleanor (Arnold) Landwehr; brother, Fred (Jackie) Grischow; sister in law, Lorraine Grischow; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Harry and Ray (Audrey) Grischow. The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 2:30 at First Congregational Church, UCC, 109 Washington Street, Algonquin, IL. Visitation will be prior to the Service from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. Inurnment will be in the Huntley Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow the inurnment. Memorials in her name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
