John B. "Jack" Kenney, 85, of Sun City Huntley passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012. He was born December 7, 1926 in Chicago the son of Harold and Frieda (Cox) Kenney. He was a decorated retired veteran of the U.S. Navy who began his naval career in WWII and retired 42 years later. He was the recipient of many medals and awards including the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Medal and the Navy Cross. Jack was a kind and caring man. He loved to read, he had a great sense of humor and the gift of gab, always ready to strike up a conversation. He was a member of the Medina Shriners, a 32nd degree Mason, King Oscars Lodge 855, Chicago, a life member of the A.F & A.M Constellation-Edison Park Lodge No. 974, a Member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1623, the Huntley American Legion Post 673 and the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Pearle, his daughter Suzanne (Jim) Kowalski, his granddaughters Tiffany (Jeff) Berry and Teagan (David) Carter and 8 great grandchildren.
