John J. Storto, 91, formerly of Huntley, IL, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Arden Courts in Geneva. He is a United States Army Korean War Veteran. Born March 1, 1929, in Chicago to the late Anthony and Christine (Trankina) Storto. John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maryjane (Zaucha) of 61 years. Sisters; Mary Lou (Michael) Urso, Rita Rice, and brothers-in-law; Howard Stelzer and Michael Urso. He is survived by his four daughters, Jayne (Jeffrey) Melssen, Joyce (Roger) Storto, Joni (John) Kupar, and Jill (Wesley) Nelson. Five Grandchildren: Kenneth, Karl (Izabella), & Kaitlyn Nielson. Allison & Elizabeth Kupar. Sister, Josephine (Howard) Stelzer; and twin brother, Samuel (Virginia) Storto. John retired after 46 years of employment with Amco Engineering, Schiller Park, IL. He enjoyed sports, especially, bowling, golf, and softball. If he was not actively participating, he was enthusiastically supporting his daughters and grandchildren in their activities. John shared with his wife, Maryjane, the love of travel, which took them to many places around the world. John’s sense of humor and the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere will truly be missed. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at St. Gall Church, 43W885 Hughes Road, Elburn, IL followed by Military Honors. Inurnment will be private, Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Arden Courts of Geneva, in memory of John Storto, 2388 Bricher Road, Geneva, IL 60134.
