Marion E. Fruin Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marion E. Fruin, 88 of Huntley passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, surrounded by her family at White Oaks in Huntley. She was born July 13, 1933, in Hampshire, the daughter of Ferdinand and Emilie (Erhardt) Schiesher. Marion and her loving husband George farmed together in Huntley for almost 60 years. Together they milked cows, cut lots of hay, raised their children and enjoyed sharing in the lives of all their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They hosted many pool parties and played cards with their wonderful friends. Marion could often be found sitting on their Massey Harris tractor raking hay. Marion was a terrific baker, her birthday cakes were always the hit of the party! Her favorite recipes are still being used by her children and grandchildren today. Marion’s kitchen was bustling during harvest and planting season. She was sure to feed anyone that was working out in the field. Farm errands was her specialty, she would load 50lb bags of seed in the back of old blue and deliver the fuel, seed, and food! During harvest, when needed she would haul corn with the Chevy 6-wheeler. She’d always have a giggle and a can-do attitude. No one was a stranger to her, they were always her friend. Pancake Tuesdays was her claim to fame. The local farmers, friends and neighbors would meet at their farm on Tuesday mornings for their fill of pancakes. Marion was very involved in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marengo, she served on the woman’s ministry and helped with many funeral luncheons and was a Catechism teacher. Marion was a blessing to so many! She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, George; her four children, Dan (Sue) Fruin, Sylvia (Ronald) Mueller, Becky Fruin, and Ross (Carol) Fruin; grandchildren, Matt (Jodi), Nathen (Samantha), Kate (Adam), Brent (Amber) Brian (Crystal), Scott (Sarah), Bradley (Jenna) Aaron (Natalie), Tonya (Brian), Craig (Bria), Hayden (Kenzie), and Emilie (Jeremiah); 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise Bakley, and Barb Michaelsen; sisters-in-law, Alice Schiesher & Darlene Schiesher; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Roger, grandson, Grant Fruin; two brothers, Karl “Shorty”, & Ralph “Jake”. Visitation and Services will be private for the family, but please stop by and see Geo and bring the cards.
