Robert E. Dunne, D.D.S. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert E. Dunne, D.D.S., age 90, passed away at his residence in Crystal Lake on September 9, 2014. He was born March 26, 1924 in Chicago, the son of the late James and Margaret (Conway) Dunne. Raised in Chicago, Bob was a long time resident of Palatine and after retirement lived in Florida. Dr. Bob was meet in heaven by his loved ones who preceded him: the love of his life, his wife Joan E. (Barrett) Dunne, his brother's, James and John, his sister's, Mildred, and Margaret (Haney). Dr. Bob was extremely proud to have served his country during WWII as a medic in the U. S. Army during tours in Africa and India. He traveled around the world before age 21. Upon his return to Chicago after the war, he attended college at Loyola University and eventually went on to graduate from the Loyola School of Dentistry. Dr. Bob opened his practice in Carpentersville at the Meadowdale Shopping Center across from the Post Office and operated there for nearly 40 years. He met Joan and they were married in November 1965, they were married 42 years until her passing in 2007. Dr. Bob was a loving uncle to 24 nieces and nephews and many more great-nieces and nephews. Visitation Monday, September 15 from 09:30 am until the 10:30 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Rd., Huntley. Interment with Military Honors will be at the chapel at All Saints Cemetery at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Carmelite Monastery, 949 North River Rd., Des Plaines, Il., 60016
