William M. "Bill" O'Malley Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William M. “Bill” O’Malley, Sr., 78, of Huntley, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Northwestern Hospital in Huntley. He was born March 9, 1944, in Chicago the son of Thaddeus and Delia (Kelly) O’Malley. He married the love of his life, Suellen Hagerty on Sept. 10, 1966, in Skokie. Bill proudly served as a member of the Chicago Police Department for 35 years. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his three sons, William Jr. (Stacey), Sean, and Christopher (Tiffany); grandchildren, Ryan (Jaclyn), Colin (Casey), Madeline (Connor), and Danielle; his dear friend, Sharon Lynch; his sister, Kay O’Malley Sorenson; his brother, Thaddeus “Frank” O’Malley; his sisters-in-law, Sheila O’Malley, and Elenora Feltz; brother-in-law, Tim Hagerty (Annette); and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Suellen on April 29, 2011, and we know is joyous to be rejoined with her in eternal life. He is also preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Maureen Bellagamba; and his brother, Joseph O’Malley. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, July 1 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Rd. in Huntley. Visitation will be at the church prior to mass from 9:00 AM – 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill’s name may be directed to the Discalced Carmelite Monastery, 949 North River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016.
