Daniel J., Jr. Henry

Daniel J. Henry Jr., 60, of rural Woodstock, formerly of rural Algonquin passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Centegra Woodstock Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born October 20, 1951 in Chicago the beloved son of Daniel J. and Florence V. (Naruszewicz) Henry Sr. Daniel was a 1969 graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School and attended McHenry County College. Daniel was a proud member of the U. S. Marine Corp Military Police. Daniel was raised in a strong farming family and community, so it was no surprise when he became a strong professional truck driver, carrying precious cargo, no matter the load. He was always dependable, a hard worker and always on time. He took great pride in knowing all the back roads and short cuts, even so much as to get up early in the morning, get his coffee, a chocolate donut, having a cigarette and cruse the rural roads, and to the chagrin of others, not really reaching the speed limit. How else did he know how to avoid the scales? He just loved traveling the rural roads and was a proud member of the Huntley Harvesters 4H Club. He loved old cars, mini bikes, 4 wheelers, tractors, farming and county fairs. He enjoyed assembling model cars, reading, American history, junk food and smooth jazz music. Above all, he was kind and generous and would help anyone in need. He was a loving son, proud father and grandfather and cherished brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his beloved father Daniel Henry Sr., his loving children Daniel J. III, Amanda, Joseph (Sarah) and Steven, his cherished grandchildren Joseph Jr., Zoey and precious Matthew on the way, his dear sister Diane (Ray) Freutel and many wonderful cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Florence on May 11, 2010 and his grandparents Daniel and Henrietta Henry and Frank and Stalla Naruszewicz. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 Noon Funeral Service Saturday, November 26. 2011 at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home 11603 E. Main St., Huntley with Rev Sue Shank officiating.
