Holder D. "H.D." Taylor

Holder D. Taylor Jr. "H.D.", 82 of Huntley passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Springs of Crystal Lake. He was born August 13, 1929 in Wynne, Arkansas the son of Holder and Tennie (Neal) Taylor. He was a WWII Army Veteran. H.D. married Dorothy (nee Witt) Goers in 1974 and they resided in Huntley for many years. They loved spending the winters in Lake Wales, Florida. H.D. was a retired truck driver for R.L. Nehls Transfer of East Dundee. He also was the proud owner of Taylor Stump and Tree Removal of Huntley. He was a member of the Huntley American Legion in Huntley and loved to spend a day fishing. Surviving are his wife Dorothy C. Taylor, children; Julie (Ova) Godsey of Benton, KY, Rick (Diane) Taylor of Algonquin and Bob Taylor of Phoenix, AZ, Stepchildren; Wayne (Sue) Goers of Huntley, Kay Cook of Austin, TX, LuAnn (Jack) Groh of Rockford, Dennis (Debbie) Goers of Marengo and Penny (Greg) Wilkerson of Huntley, 10 grandchildren and 13 Step Grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and step great grandchildren, three brothers; Ernest (Beryl) Taylor, Clarence (Lucreda) Taylor and Vernon Taylor all of West Memphis, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters; Emile Shaver, Minnie Wilson, Alvin Taylor, Travis Taylor, Pearlie Allyn, Mildred Smithee, William Taylor and Lois Taylor. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St, Huntley and will continue Wednesday August 8, 2012 from 10:00am until the 11:00am service at the Funeral Home with Rev. Charles W. Kittel officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held in the Huntley Cemetery.
